Step 1: MECHANICS

Start by soaking your foam and placing it into your dish.  Anchor the foam into the container securely using wet floral tape. Then, carve the bottom inch of each taper candle down to a point using a sharp knife. (Or, you could use one of our wonderful candle shapers for a perfect tip!)  Apply Oasis floral adhesive to each  candle base and carefully place  into the  foam. To prevent fire hazard, insert the candles 2 fingers apart from each other . Also, be sure to insert each candle into the foam at least 2 inches for stability. Wait for 15 minutes to allow the glue to dry.

Step 2: CREATING THE FORM

Begin by cutting and inserting the roses and spray roses into the wet foam. Radiate from the center of the design with each flower  to avoid crossing stems.  Insert the flowers  equally on all sides of design to keep your balance. Next, insert the Gerbera Daisies.  Place one near the center, two in the front and two in the back.  Grouping the gerberas will help provide a dramatic accent in your centerpiece.  Continue the balanced radial insertion with your Novelty Pom pons and Hypericum.   As you work, spin the bowl to view all sides and check for symmetry.

Step 3: FILLING IN THE FORM

Add the Tulips and Lisianthus throughout the centerpiece balancing from side to side and top to bottom. Remember that the tulips play an important role in filing in the form and creating interest…so don’t let them hide.  Grouping the Tulips in twos will give them more importance in the finished centerpiece.  Continue the radial placement of  each stem from the center to avoid crossing stems.   You can also, insert the Novelty Poms at this point to continue filling in the arrangement.
