Charles loves being a floral designer and was inspired to create a design that projected his feelings. To create Green, Charles chose a tall container and then turned it upside down. "Creating art with the medium of flowers is fun, exhilarating and challenging. The interpretation of classic concepts of texture, structure, form, color and theme in unconventional materials brings me great joy" The unexpected “turn of events” with the use of the vase adds a special touch of creativity.

Charles Schomaker is a self taught floral designer. He considers himself to be very fortunate to be mentored and inspired by several bosses and co-workers in his decade in the floral world. Currently, he is the senior designer at Flowers by Dorcas in downtown Portland.
