The first design that guests saw as they walked into the Creative Center was "Here, Time turns into Space" by Shannon Covington-McAlerny. An accomplished artist and floral designer, Shannon has had three previous entries accepted for Floral Design as Art Exhibitions. Her September 2005 design, "Paradise Regained" won both the People's Choice and the Juror's Choice awards.

"My inspiration for this design exhibit is my long time interest and fascination with both science fiction and theoretical physics. Time travel straddles the two, existing somewhere in between. I have been wanting to pay homage to this area of fascination for quite a while now. Whether listening to Stephen Hawking lecture on why time travel to the past is improbable at best, or watching Dr. Ellie Arroway in the movie Contact grope for words to describe the beauty that she sees after hurtling through a series of wormholes (They should have sent a poet), I am always in awe of the implications and possibilities of time travel."
