As
simple as this may sound, flowers are a genuine and positive therapy for the winter blues. While we flower lovers have always believed in the
power of flowers, we now have scientific evidence to support our beliefs. Research conducted by Jeanette Haviland-Jones, PhD.
At Rutgers University shows that flowers have an immediate impact on happiness. Study participants upon receiving flowers expressed
true smiles demonstrating extraordinary delight and gratitude. Flowers were also shown to have a long-term effect
on moods. Study participants reported feeling
less depressed, anxious or agitated after receiving flowers, and demonstrated a higher
sense of enjoyment and life satisfaction. Flowers
bring a cheerful disposition to any environment. Bring them indoors and the effect is
magnified, especially on a gray, drizzly day. |
